One of Upstate New York’s hidden wonders is tucked away up a mountain trail in the tiny Catskills town of Prattsville, population: 700.
Park at a trailhead just south of town on Route 23, and you’ll see this sign, inviting you to explore Pratt Rock, or what Ripley’s Believe It Or Not called “New York’s Mount Rushmore.”

Zadock Pratt Museum awarded Preserve New York Grant
We are excited to announce that Zadock Pratt Museum has been awarded a Preserve New York Grant to complete a Cultural Landscape Report of the herb garden. It is hoped that studying the herb garden area as well as the museum’s archives can lay the groundwork for restoring this important interpretive feature of the site.
