Item 5. Catskill Messenger, undated: “Prattsville Meeting (April 5).” Discussed the organization of a new county. The Prattsville News, Oct. 11, 1859: Residents of Prattsville and neighboring towns invited to meet Oct. 13 @ 7:00 @ Town Hall to discuss organization of a Farmer’s Club. Undated, unattributed clipping describing bust of Pratt as proponent of Bureau of Statistics. Population of Prattsville 1613 in 1840, 1989 in 1850. The Prattsville Advocate, June 9, 1855: “A New Source of Trade” – 15 cases of hats sold by Pratt to E.K. Fuller & Co. of Great Salt Lake City, shipped immediately via St. Louis.

About 3:00 last Thursday a fir broke out in the large boarding house owned by Pratt and Watson, occupied by Tannery employees. No injuries, but little property saved. Tannery spared. Bloomsville Mirror, June 1, 1861: “Just Like the Man”. Description of Pratt fountains and garden.

Item 27. Unattributed, March 1, 1842. Notice: An application will be made to the legislature to construct a railroad with double track from Prattsville to Kingston at the expense of the state.

Item 30. “The Prattsville Mining Co. North Branch of the Middle Fork of American River, Cal., July 12, 1850.” Account by P. McGinnis of prospecting for gold with other Prattsville residents.

Item 31. Schoharie Republican, undated: “Prattsville”. Description of the village. The Prattsville News, May 28, 1861: Pratt on raising good horses. Mrs. Pratt raises the flag on the steeple of Grace Church amid bell ringing, cannon fire, cheering. The Prattsville News, Sept. 3, 1861: “Memorial of a visit to Prattsville, Greene Co., August 1861”. The author viewed the new cemetery and pleasure grounds being prepared by Pratt. The Examiner, Catskill, March 17, 1860: Pratt arrived home from CA by overland route. The yield of milk per cow in his dairy is 164 lbs. in 1859. Recorder and Democrat, Catskill, undated: Pratt persuaded to serve as Prattsville Supervisor. The Prattsville News, Dec. 25, 1860: Grace Church is beautifully decorated “and reflects much credit on those who arranged it”. The Windham Journal, March 13, 1862: Donation for the visit of Rev. W. Wardlow amounted to over $60. Unattributed, undated: “The Prattsville Woolen Factory has manufactured annually 30,000 pounds of wool, up to its close of operations”.

Item 32. Unattributed, May 28, 1855: Notice to Creditors: “…all persons having claims against ALBERT E. LORD, late of Prattsville, deceased, that are required to exhibit the same, with the vouchers thereof to Elisha Lord, administrator… on or before the 8 th day of December, 1855.”

Item 33. The American Reporter, Albany, undated: “Our Visit to Ulster County”. Mentions Pratt’s “magnificent mansion”, his generosity to the poor inhabitants.

Item 34. The Prattsville Advocate, July 7, 1855: “Census Items” Prattsville inhabitants – 617; Red Falls – 231; Persons not in village limits – 740 = 1588. Largest town dairy farm belongs to Henry B. Bouton, who made 6000 pounds of butter during the last year. Two copies.

Item 35. Unattributed, July 4, 1854: “Fourth of July Celebration at Prattsville”. Oration by Wm. W. Fosdick of New York City, 33 gun salute at sunset.

Item 36. Letter from J.B. Skinner to Pratt, Jan. 20, 1853 thanking him for the engravings, hopes to meet him in Washington, DC on March 4 th , trusts the President will select him “as his leading minister”. Includes transcription.

Item 37. The Prattsville News, July 23, 1861: New 16 passenger Concorde coach christened in honor of Pratt, placed along Western route.

Item 38. The Prattsville Advocate, Sept. 14, 1846: Tribute to Pratt.

Item 39. Recorder and Democrat, Catskill, Jan. 1, 1857: Letter to Editor, unsigned, dated Dec. 27, 1856, describing the Christmasd Festival at Grace Church in Prattsville, supervised by Mrs. Pratt and Rev. John. H. Hoffman. Refreshments were served at the Pratt’s house after service, gifts distributed to children. A large Christmas tree stood in the “principal room”.
